WEBSITE DESIGNER + DEVELOPER

OPPORTUNITY:
Unique opportunity to work directly with an American entrepreneur and former CEO of several companies, including one that was acquired by Sony, to design and develop extremely interesting web graphics, interactivity and functionality in a 3 month project.
Superb learning and portfolio building opportunity, which is ideal for a highly motivated, very detail-oriented individual who has a deep passion for web design and development.
Prior experience is less important than the ability to demonstrate strong graphics design and website coding skills. This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate, a student taking some time off from school or a self-taught individual with the required talent and skills.
PROJECT SCOPE:
• Design graphics, code, test and deploy 3 small websites, each of which will consist of one primary page with interactive elements and a few additional simple pages of content.
• Update an existing website
• Design a few HTML email/PDF documents
SKILLS:
Graphics:
Design highly appealing, impactful, professional and clean graphics similar to the type of graphics used in the example websites list above.
Coding:
HTML5, JavaScript, Canvas, CSS, AJAX, jQuery UI, PHP and similar technologies used to code the website functionality in the example websites listed above. There will be no use of Flash. The websites must gracefully degrade on older browsers that, for example, don’t support HTML5. The websites also must render correctly on a range of browsers, including various versions of IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Opera, including desktop and mobile versions of relevant browsers.
Testing:
Strong attention to detail, strong optimizing skills (graphic file size and code execution).
Deployment:
Deploy on webservers and CDNs (such as Amazon’s CloudFront). At least one website will force SSL browsing.
Development Equipment/Software:
You must have your own laptop and relevant software.
Language Skills:
Must be fluent in English.
