Manufacturing Engineer

An opportunity is available for a Manufacturing Engineer (Factory Design and Layout) within a large aerospace engineering organisation. The role will cover Factory Design and Layout for a Blade Casting Facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- To carry out Factory Design and Layout work for the Advanced Blade Casting Facility, working with the Technical Lead and the Design and Layout Lead, ensuring that lean principles are embedded in the layout from the outset.
- To work with the equipment process engineers to understand equipment cycle times and OEE data to ensure that the number of machines is correct and in-line with the required load for the facility.
- To work with the engineers to define the Blue Book and infrastructure and to be actively engaged with the Client Side Design team to ensure that the facility is correctly specified and designed.
- To work with the Manufacturing Manager to ensure that a robust load/capacity model is developed and maintained in line with our change control process.
- To ensure that the facility design and layout meets with all the appropriate Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
Required Skills and Experience
- You will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of Factory Design and Layout, including equipment services, load/capacity planning and lean principles.
- A detailed knowledge of single crystal casting processes is preferable but not essential.
- Knowledge and experience of manufacturing of complex components in an aerospace environment is preferred, but is not a prime requirement.
- You will be highly computer literate and have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels on technical issues.
- You will be educated to HNC or degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
