Role Description:

We are seeking an economist to join the European team in the Global Economics team in London. The economist will be responsible for doing regular statistical, financial and macro analysis of the Turkey economy; and communicating with internal and external clients. The demands on the analyst are sometime high and a demonstrated ability to deliver under pressure is essential.

The new hire would cover Turkey economics plus some area of our coverage.

• Produce regular reports analysing the Turkish macroeconomic developments and their impact on a broad range of asset classes
• Building quantitative frameworks to elaborate forecasts and thematic research
• Marketing the ideas and output from the research to institutional clients
• Engaging in proprietary projects with special emphasis on developing complex macro model
• Supporting internal stakeholders across the firm
• Developing close relationships with policymakers in the region

The Team:

• The #1 ranked EEMEA research team at BofA
• We are a team of 12 analysts covering EEMEA economics and fixed income/equity strategy

Skills:

• Fluent Turkish; excellent communication/writing skills; to be based in London
• The candidate should have a PhD or a combination of a graduate degree + market experience
• An excellent network of policy relationships in Turkey is required
• Exceptional quantitative skills with ample knowledge of the most common statistical packages
• Proven experience on statistical/econometric work
• Creative thinking and exceptional analytical skills
• Capable of working effectively both independently and with multiple teams/individuals
