market makers, trading in fixed income and equity securities, including currencies, interest rates, securitised products and credit in cash, derivatives and structured
products. We have taken market-leading positions across the globe by leveraging the strength of our talent, client relationships and technology.
Duties and responsibilities:
Be the prime market maker in trading Turkish Lira, responsible for revenue generation. The ideal candidate will be making prices in this currency to sales across all EEMEA regions.
Provide back-up coverage for other Asian currencies. In the absence of other traders, you will have to provide pricing in other currencies.
You will give sales and clients trade ideas related to the Turkish Lira. This will involve morning commentary and update sales/clients about what is going on in the Turkish Market
Provide translation for news from Turkey. Being comfortable in Turkish and English, you will have to provide the desk with real time translation of articles in Turkish that are key to understanding Turkey's view on financial markets.
You will be responsible for staying up to date to market trends in terms of both currency markets and competitor activity, as well as the regional and internal regulatory environment.
Key objectives critical to success:
The ideal candidate will be a key PnL generator in the EM business and we expect him to contribute significantly to the desk from next year onwards.

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:
FX trader with minimum 10 years’ experience trading local Turkey markets – FX and rates.
Minimum VP level and with experience of working in both a local and international bank.
Must be Turkish speaker and familiar with the Turkish Lira client base
Must have proven track record of revenue generation from Turkish Lira franchise trading and be experienced in managing risk across TRY FX and rates products.
Must be comfortable engaging with clients directly and working alongside global FX sales force.
Core part of the role is to provide liquidity in Turkish Lira FX and rates products to Nomura clients, build franchise volumes and generate revenue from franchise trading.
